It is a Node.js CLI script for switching a Firefox bookmarks json file into a nicely-formatted, shareable HTML file. Firefox's bookmarks supervisor enables you to export your bookmarks to HTML currently, but i desired something that could develop friendlier HTML output therefore I could share my bookmarks in an easy-to-read format.
npm install parse-ff-bookmarks -g
You may want to prefix the command with sudo.
- Open the bookmarks manager via the menu in Firefox: Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks
- Click "Import and Backup" and select "Backup...", conserving the json back-up file within desired location.
parse-ff-bookmarks /path/to/bookmarks.json my-bookmarks.html
replacing the instance values aided by the place of the json file as well as the desired title associated with HTML file to result.
NOTE: you can even include a 3rd argument specifying which folder inside bookmarks you need to start in. e.g.
